Notes:

Summer Break…Each summer some activities take a break or meet fewer times, i.e., Identity Youth Group, Men’s Breakfast, Ladies Fellowship Breakfast, most study groups, etc. These activities will begin again in September.

July Sermon Topic/Format…In July, we will offer a family worship service each Sunday. There will be no Children’s Church. Instead, we ask the children to attend the regular Morning Worship Service with their parents. The message series will be titled “One Another-ing.” A variety of speakers will provide the weekly messages.

Week of August 3-9

• • Ladies Lunch, Aug. 3…All ladies of the church are invited to gather together for lunch the first Sunday of each month immediately after the church service. Meet on Sunday August 3 at McAlister’s Deli in Gurnee, located in the Grand Hunt Center at 6557 Grand Avenue (in the outer drive near Helzberg Diamonds). This is an ongoing invitation—no sign-up, just come if you can on each first Sunday. See Becky Martens if you have any questions.

  • Ladies Summer Bible Study, Aug 6…The Ladies Summer Bible Study meets every other Wednesday at the church at 6:30 p.m., meeting on August 6 and August 20 this month. The current study is written by Kay Arthur and is titled Choosing Victory, Overcoming Defeat: Joshua, Judges, Ruth. Contact Becky Martens for more information.

  • Family Night, Aug. 8…We will have one final summer Family Night in August. The Beckman's are opening their home one more time for swim and fellowship time at 6:00 p.m. on August 8. Please bring a towel and wear your swimsuit if you plan to swim.

Week of August 10-16 

• • Communion, Aug. 10…

  • Prayer Meeting, Aug. 10…Prayer Meeting is held monthly on the second Sunday of each month. Come this month on August 10 at 4:00 p.m. We will pray together as we focus on needs and praises for our church and community.

Week of August 17-23 

• • Ladies Summer Bible Study, Aug. 20…The Ladies Summer Bible Study will meet for the second time this month on August 20. We’ll meet at the church at 6:30 p.m. The current study is written by Kay Arthur and is titled Choosing Victory, Overcoming Defeat: Joshua, Judges, Ruth. Contact Becky Martens for more information. 

Week of August 24-30 

• • Board Meeting, Aug. 24…The August Board Meeting will be held on Sunday, August 24 at 3:30 p.m. Please keep our church elders and deacons in prayer as they meet to discuss current business and plan for the coming months. 

Week of August 31-September 6 

• • Fifth Sunday, Aug. 31…On the Fifth Sunday of August, we will have a breakfast meal together in the Fellowship Hall, similar to what we do each year on Easter. This meal will be held before church, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The Morning Worship will follow at 10:00 a.m. We ask that the children attend the service with their parents. A sign-up sheet, will be provided soon.

  • Ladies Summer Bible Study, Sept. 3…The continuing Ladies Summer Bible Study meets every other Wednesday at the church at 6:30 p.m., meeting on September 3 and 17 this month. The current study is written by Kay Arthur and is titled Choosing Victory, Overcoming Defeat: Joshua, Judges, Ruth. Contact Becky Martens for more information.

  • Men’s Breakfast, Sept. 6…All men are encouraged to join us for our monthly meeting—for a light breakfast, time in prayer, and fellowship. We will meet at the church at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6.
